Hosted by The National Kidney Foundation, Enhance Fitness is a fitness program geared towards improving the overall functional fitness and well being of primarily older adults.

Classes focus on cardio conditioning, strength training, flexibility, and balance.  And best of all: Classes are FREE! Enhance Fitness is a physical activity program for adults that is designed to improve functional fitness and well being. Functional fitness means keeping strong, balanced, and flexible to retain the ability to do the daily activities of life that you normally would do.

Enhance Fitness is an evidence-based program, which means that it has been tested and studied to show its effectiveness for older adults. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends that adults should do at least 2.5 hours of moderate-intensity exercise weekly, and that they must be given opportunities to enjoy physical fitness activities that are specially designed for their needs.

Regular exercise has been found to decrease the risk of developing chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), osteoporosis (thinning bones), heart disease, and depression. Seniors can improve their health and maintain their independence so that they may age in place longer.
